Job Summary: As a Salas O’Brien Intern or Co-Op student, you will have the exciting opportunity to kick-start your engineering career by contributing to real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience, and collaborating with a team of skilled professionals. Our students have the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to practical exposure, our roles offer a chance to enhance your engineering skills while making a meaningful impact on our ongoing projects.
General expectations:
- Project Support: Assist our engineering teams in various phases of project development, from concept design to implementation and testing.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct technical research, data analysis, and simulations to support project objectives and decision-making processes.
- Prototyping: Work closely with senior engineers to build and test prototypes, iterating designs as necessary to achieve project goals.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and progress reports.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and testing, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Innovation: Contribute fresh ideas and insights to enhance existing products or develop new solutions to address engineering challenges.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in engineering to support the team’s innovation efforts.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while working in the lab or on-site.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in [relevant engineering field, e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or functional field, e.g., Marketing, HR, Finance, Commissioning, IT] or related disciplines. Alternatively, candidates currently enrolled in an accredited functional or engineering program are welcome to apply.
- Passion for Engineering: Strong interest in engineering or your functional discipline and a desire to build a successful career in the field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using engineering and discipline specific tools and software.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically to overcome engineering challenges.
- Communication and Teamwork: Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with diverse colleagues and stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
