JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate intern to join our Adolescent Behavioral Health Program. The intern will work under the supervision of our clinical team to support the delivery of behavioral health services to adolescents facing a range of emotional and behavioral challenges. This position offers a hands-on learning experience in a dynamic mental health setting and provides valuable exposure to clinical and therapeutic work with adolescents.
Client Support
Assist in facilitating individual and group sessions under supervision.
Observe and document therapeutic interventions and client progress.
Help with intake assessments and case documentation (under supervision).
Provide general emotional support to adolescents in a safe, non-judgmental manner.
Administrative Support
Assist in managing client files, ensuring they are up-to-date and confidential.
Support in scheduling appointments, conducting phone outreach, and coordinating between clients and the clinical team.
Maintain and organize program-related documents and resources.
Support research and data collection efforts related to client outcomes and program effectiveness.
Program Development
Help create and update educational or therapeutic materials for adolescent clients.
Assist in organizing community outreach events, workshops, or support groups.
Contribute to research on evidence-based practices in adolescent behavioral health.
Professional Development
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and supervision sessions to gain insight into therapeutic practices.
Shadow clinicians and participate in training opportunities relevant to behavioral health.
Engage in ongoing self-reflection and feedback to enhance professional growth.
TASKS/ASSIGNED DUTIES
Assigned Duties and Tasks (please provide 5 bullets):
Provide direct support and assist adolescent patients with therapeutic activities and interventions (under supervision of clinical team).
Complete administrative tasks for adolescent patient charts including but not limited to setting up transportation, managing client files, maintaining and organizing program-related documentation, and conducting phone outreach.
Assisting and facilitating call backs for scheduling appointments of adolescents (under supervision)
Participate in team meetings, group supervision, and case management to work with the clinical team to ensure development of patient treatment plans and ensure positive outcomes for patients
Provide general support to adolescents in treatment (under supervision)
Assist with the intake assessment process and assisting families with admission general program information (under supervision)

In terms of Educational and Professional development, the intern will gain significant educational opportunities for any careers in mental health, psychology, social work, or related fields. By providing them with real-world experience in an adolescent behavioral health setting, we aim to contribute to the development of the next generation of mental health professionals. The intern will gain critical skills in case management, therapeutic interventions, crisis response, and client communication, all while being guided by experienced professionals.
