GENERAL PURPOSE
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Support Intern to join our team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT support and develop technical skills in a professional environment. The IT Support Intern will assist with various technical support tasks, providing first-line support to employees and helping maintain our IT infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance via the internal ticketing system, phone, email, or in person.
- Act as a technical resource to assist users in resolving problems with equipment and data; provide help desk functions to facilitate the exchange of information and advice to employees.
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions to resolve technical issues.
- Assist in installing, configuring, and upgrading workstation operating systems and software.
- Help install, assemble, and configure computers, monitors, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware.
- Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including hardware, software, email, network, and peripheral equipment issues; make repairs and corrections as needed.
- Adheres to all service standards as outlined in the credit union’s policies and procedures and protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING
Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
EXPERIENCE
Prior work experience in a professional setting preferred.
