About the Role: As a Career & Internship Coach, you will be at the heart of student success, providing expert guidance and support for career preparation and advancement. You’ll help students and alumni navigate their career paths, land internships, and secure jobs after graduation. From resume reviews to mock interviews, job search strategies, and career coaching, you will ensure students are equipped with the tools they need to succeed both during and after their academic journey.
What You’ll Do:
- Personalized Career Coaching: Work one-on-one with students and alumni to help them identify their career goals, create a strategy for achieving them, and refine key professional skills.
- Internship & Job Search Guidance: Assist students in finding internships, practicums, and career opportunities that align with their long-term goals, ensuring their path is as seamless as possible.
- Collaboration: Partner with faculty and advisors to ensure students gain meaningful experiences and internships that complement their academic work.
- Application Assistance: Help students polish resumes, cover letters, and other application materials to stand out in the job market. Provide mock interviews and give constructive feedback to build confidence.
- On-Campus Recruiting & Events: Coordinate job fairs, networking events, and employer information sessions. Cultivate strong relationships with employers seeking talented candidates and connect students to real job opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Career Development, Coaching or Employment Specialist certifications are a plus).
- Experience: Proven ability to provide career coaching, job search assistance, and to create impactful presentations.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for helping others, and the ability to engage with a diverse student body.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing needs and an irregular work schedule, including evenings and weekends when needed.
