Class Concept

The City of Dublin is seeking applicants for a year-round internship with our Information Technology (IT) department. Under the supervision of the Information Technology staff, the IT Support Services Intern functions in a technology support role to assist with inquiries and requests, troubleshooting, research and network/server access.
 
Availability/Scheduling

  • The typical schedule for this position is approximately 20 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday-Friday
  • The successful candidate must be available to work in-person in Dublin, Ohio (no remote opportunities at this time)

Intern Pay Structure
Undergraduate Freshman: $17.00/hour
Undergraduate Sophomore: $17.50/hour
Undergraduate Junior: $18.00/hour
Undergraduate Senior: $18.50/hour
First Year Graduate Student: $19.50/hour
Second Year Graduate Student: $21.00/hour

Examples of Duties

Examples of duties and things that you will learn include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with entering support requests into the helpdesk tracking system
  • Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance with a variety of hardware and software applications
  • Provide support for desktops/laptops and as well as office phones, cell phones, video conferencing and remote access
  • Conduct inventory on retired hardware to prep for auction listings
  • Learn problem solving and task and project management tools
  • Work on special research projects regarding technology including AI, automation, data visualization and analysis

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree seeking program with an emphasis in Technology, Computer Science or a science/engineering related degree
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Must be available to work in-person in Dublin, Ohio (no remote opportunities at this time)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using a variety of computing systems, phones, audio/visual equipment and other devices
  • Experience helping others with their technology
  • Interest in technology, learning, fixing things and helping people
  • Strong organizational, communication and customer service skills
  • A can-do attitude and aptitude for problem solving
