Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 per year
Position Summary:
The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will assist in maintaining and supporting Wilson Tool’s IT systems and infrastructure. This entry-level position provides an opportunity to develop skills in IT infrastructure, working closely with experienced team members to ensure system reliability, security, and performance. The role is ideal for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute to technology solutions that support business operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Assist with monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime and maintain service availability.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain cloud-based environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) and support hybrid IT systems.
- Help maintain security standards by assisting with tasks like patch management, system updates, and backups.
- Provide basic administration for Active Directory, user accounts, and group policies.
- Participate in documentation of system configurations, processes, and changes to maintain accurate IT records.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including routine backup and restore tasks.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand technology needs and contribute to solutions.
- Assist with IT projects, providing support for testing, deployment, and resource coordination.
- Participate in training and mentorship opportunities to expand technical knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in an IT role or internship supporting infrastructure components.
- Familiarity with Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365).
- Basic understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, routing, and switching.
- Desire to learn and develop technical skills in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to collaborate and learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or exposure to cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with IT security concepts and best practices.
- Understanding of automation or scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals) are a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily on-site position with standard first-shift hours.
- Occasional on-call availability may be required for system updates or critical support.
