Job Summary

PSEG is looking for an Intern for the IT – Utility Technology.

This job involves working as a Jr. System Analyst on the 900 MHz Communication System.   

This position will be onsite. 
 


Job Responsibilities

Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:

  • Ongoing Enhancement – Improve the data visualization of subscriber reports through the Genesis System monitoring platform. Genesis offers a comprehensive array of reports concerning subscriber metrics, system visibility, and usability. The aim is to present various matrices related to the 900 MHz infrastructure, encompassing towers, talk groups, and subscribers.
  • Audit and Operational Automation – Structure and enhance the FMC Vehicles Replacement project. The creation of a tracking system will enable the projection of financial costs, facilitate console assignments based on vehicle type, reduce procedural errors, and improve the efficiency of the call-off process.
  • Supply Chain Management and Logistics – Engage with supply chain vendors to ensure sufficient inventory levels for radio installation. The development of an inventory report will offer current and comprehensive information on existing items. This report will encompass specifics about individual items, along with remarks and additional information pertinent to radio installation.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education/Skills: 
The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent major and graduating between December 2025 and May 2028.  Students graduating in May/June 2025 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the Fall term of 2025.  PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration.

  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve results. 
  • Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications. Proficient in other MS Office applications.
  • Must be able to work at various PSE&G locations based on business needs/workload. 
  • Because this position will require traveling to various PSEG locations, a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record is required.

 

Preferred: 

  • 3.0 GPA
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Access, VBA and Excel. 
  • Ability to work alone or as part of an integrated team & Strong organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrated abilities in the areas of focused actionable planning, team building, communication, change management and project management. 
  • Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of: 
    • The company’s business applications. 
    • Various operating and maintenance handbooks and manuals insofar as they pertain to his/her work, including the safety rules and practices set forth therein.

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
