Job Summary:

Join RailPros as a Rail Design Intern and dive into the dynamic field of rail infrastructure. This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of rail projects. As a vital team member, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience with industry-leading CAD software, and play a key role in the success of ongoing projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Design Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of rail infrastructure projects by working closely with the rail design team. Collaborate with rail engineers to create detailed design drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • CAD Modeling and Drafting: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software (Microstation) to produce accurate and detailed models and drawings. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data relevant to rail projects to support design and development activities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers. Communicate ideas, progress, and challenges clearly and effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure designs meet client standards and are error-free.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency with electronic communication (e-mail, text) and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • No prior experience required.
