Job Description
Director of International Programs and Spanish professor will lead and direct all aspects of the institution’s co- and extracurricular international programs and instruct beginner- to intermediate-level Spanish courses. Successful candidate will oversee programs, activities, community relations, and will develop and seek funding for global travel opportunities (study abroad; service learning; etc.) for enrolled students. Full-time/ 12-month position Responsibilities: Provide leadership and vision for ensuring ongoing development of quality curriculum, pedagogy, and positive participant experience in all international programs. Develop and manage a total program plan and budget, oversee logistics, address policy needs, and assist in identification of new program opportunities. Build and maintain community relations and partnerships to support international students and international programs on campus. Create programming that enriches the campus community and embraces the diversity of the student population. Cultivate, lead, and secure funding for scholar global experiences and activities that lead to global travel, academic experiences, and/or studying abroad. Assist the university designee in maintaining and updating student visa paperwork and documentation. Deliver beginner- to intermediate-level instruction in Spanish language and culture and other General Education courses, as needed. (Face-to-face and/or hybrid) Demonstrate a dedication to the department’s core curriculum, which emphasizes an appreciation of cultural and spiritual values, creative expression and the history and experience of human society through courses in the Humanities, fine arts, and language. Demonstrate skills in technology and pedagogical tools (Blackboard; Microsoft Suite; video and web conferencing; etc.) Other related duties as required. Must be able to travel to various locations within the United States and other countries if needed. Saint Augustine’s University ( SAU ), drawing on its rich legacy as an access institution, is a student-focused, comprehensive educational institution that produces outstanding graduates prepared for personal and professional success. SAU was established in 1867 in Raleigh, NC by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. A four-year liberal arts university with an average enrollment of approximately 1,000, SAU sits on 105 lush acres just north of Downtown Raleigh, NC. The institution offers more than 20 undergraduate degrees and a Master of Public Administration ( MPA ) Program and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges ( SACSCOC ). Physical Demands
Extensive walking: must be able to travel to various locations within the United States and other countries if needed.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Spanish or related international content area with experience/certification in leading Spanish instruction is required. PhD or equivalent is strongly preferred. Background in curriculum development, program development and evaluation, experiential education, community-based learning, social justice/human rights education, and/or intercultural exchange. Experience teaching courses in Spanish language, literature, or culture at the college (undergraduate or graduate) level, which could have been as a teaching assistant, adjunct, or full-time faculty. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish Ability to utilize computer technology at a proficient level to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others. Must be proficient in the Google suite and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Publisher). Strong organizational skills and the capacity to work and thrive in a fast-paced educational environment. Demonstrated effective oral and written skills; excellent intercultural skills.
