As a Project Accountant at Ginkgo Residential, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial management of construction projects from inception to completion. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, monitor project budgets, and collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other internal teams. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, a deep understanding of construction project financials, and experience working with Procore for project tracking and reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage project-specific accounting, including but not limited to budget tracking, cost reporting, and variance analysis.
- Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices in accordance with the project budget.
- Reconcile project costs with the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project budgets.
- Maintain detailed records for all project-related transactions, including change orders, purchase orders, and subcontractor agreements.
- Work closely with project managers to forecast and monitor project cash flow, ensuring that projects remain within budget and on schedule.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and project updates for stakeholders and senior management.
- Utilize Procore to manage project budgets, track change orders, and streamline document control.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to resolve any financial discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.
- Prepare and submit monthly billing for projects, including proper backup documentation.
- Assist in year-end audits and preparation of financial statements for each project.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction or real estate development industry.
- Proven experience using Procore for project management and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and clients.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
- Knowledge of GAAP and industry-specific accounting principles is a plus.
