General Purpose

The IT program director helps govern the planning and execution of information technology projects while also maintaining quality controls over technology decisions. While leading a technical team including IT program managers, this role is responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders and project managers to meet scope, timeline, and budget expectations. Provides oversight and connections from the project to other technology groups and the security team as needed. Accurately articulates milestone progress and speaks to executive leadership teams regarding project risks and issues. Develops and maintains quality assurance standards for information technology. Evaluates new requirements as well as upcoming risks to determine mitigation strategies and escalation needs to maintain project execution plans.


Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and guidance to a group of direct reports, including IT program management resources. 
  • Coordinates technology needs and decisions for assigned projects with other technology groups and stakeholders. 
  • Ensures the successful execution of project deliverables by assisting in the resolution of project risks, actions, issues, and decisions. 
  • Provides leadership and guidance to assigned project resources. 
  • Sets technology direction within the project to maintain alignment with BHE standards while also meeting stakeholder needs. 
  • Ability to work across other technology groups to review project requirements and expectations while providing alternatives if needed. 
  • Develops presentations and supporting documentation to communicate key milestone progress updates for leadership. 
  • Utilizes project tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) and Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) to provide updates and actions on project tasks. 
  • Works closely with project management and other project stakeholders to align and deliver guidance and direction to the assigned project resources. 
  • Continuously seek out and, when appropriate, recommend opportunities for efficiencies within the project execution. 
  • Ability to professionally coordinate and communicate with all program stakeholders including IT, business partners and vendors. 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related business or technical field or equivalent work experience. 
  • Eight years of information technology and/or project management. 
  • Experience in information technology system operation/environment and/or development. 
  • Understanding of agile methods, processes, and key concepts. 
  • Understanding of system development lifecycle within an enterprise. 
  • Ability to coordinate across teams to accomplish tasks. 
  • Effective project management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently. 
  • Knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions, and major vendors. 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Effective people skills and customer relationship skills. 
  • General understanding of IT operating and capital investment budgets. 
  • Understanding of company’s existing IT environment and of applicable company policies, practices, and procedures.

Preferences
  • Advanced Degree. 
  • Knowledge of the Company’s strategic plan, regulatory and political environment, as well as the Company’s policies, procedures and practices, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 20.00% of salary.
