Position Summary | American Indian
Student Services (AISS) is seeking a Professional Support Intern to engage in
an experience designed to provide on-the-job training and development for a
recent college graduate. The Professional Support Intern will join a team of
professionals dedicated to supporting the University’s enrollment, retention,
and graduation goals; and provide support to students with specific needs
relative to higher education navigation and success. Undertaking a wide range
of job duties and tasks for college transition initiatives, student mentorship
programs, student leadership development opportunities; and providing
comprehensive support for projects and programming activities of varying
complexity and structure are the primary duties and responsibilities of the
position. The successful candidate should possess developed oral and written
skills and networking expertise. Experience collaborating and interacting with
diverse constituents and tribal governments, higher education programs, and
entities specific to American Indian communities are critical elements of the
in-person position. The individual selected for this position will: - Create and support student-led programming by providing
ongoing daily coaching and support to AISS student employees focused on the
organizational components of AISS programs (Success Series Workshops, American
Indian Summer Bridge (AISB) Program, AISS Ambassador Program, FAF$A-FOR-U, and
American Indian Convocation). - Support the creation of comprehensive content for the AISS
social media platforms, including but not limited to: Snapchat, Instagram, and
Facebook. - Provide direct support to department staff for projects
& initiatives focused on student recruitment & outreach efforts;
student engagement, program design/planning, staff training, and facilities
planning. - Provide intermediate-level professional and administrative
services for daily department operations and objectives under supervision of
department professional staff. - Participate in the planning and implementation of
programmatic initiatives relative to academic advising, financial aid &
scholarship guidance, and student support services to prospective, new, and
current undergraduate students. - Assist with the collection, maintenance, and analysis of
program activity data and support the development of statistical and narrative
program reports and evaluations. - Assist with the development of complex project, operations,
and/or events. - Serve as an active participant or department representative
in a variety of department/division-specific and university-wide student
programming initiatives.

Conditions of Employment | - Must present transcripts prior to a formal offer being extended.

- This is a fixed-term position, typically up to 24 months.

Minimum Qualifications | Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university in a Bachelor’s or higher level degree program, and are within 12 months from graduating OR a recent graduate of an accredited university with a Bachelor’s or higher level degree obtained no more than 24 months prior to the date of hire; no previous experience required. |

Preferred Qualifications | Demonstrated proficiency/experience in: - Project Planning Skills.
- Social media content development.
- Ability to understand and follow complex and detailed
technical instructions. - Logistics support with student leadership, mentorship, and
retention initiatives. - Conducting recruitment & outreach activities and other
student support service related projects/programs in partnership with various
campus departments. - Creating design sets and copy for print publications/digital
& web-based communication/social media platforms utilizing Canva, Adobe
Express, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. - Working on a team and/or in a collaborative work-setting,
multi-tasking and creative problem-solving and working in a high-traffic
customer service environment. - Effectively communicating and interacting with various
tribal governments, organizations, higher education programs; and a wide range
of individuals representing diverse communities.
