Student Intern(Thriving Communities)

  Definition: The Student Intern works under the direction of the Instructor of the CTE program.  The Skills Instructor assists in preparing resources and materials used during instruction,  demonstrations, and skills rotations. The skills instructor works in the industry and has the ability  to teach the skills of the program’s industry.

TASK: 
The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented. 

• Teaches skills lab and/or rotations to high school students 
• Assists the instructor with the set-up of instruction, demonstrations, and skills rotations ? Works closely with instructors in the skills lab to assist students in gaining skills for  certification and future student advancing training. 
• Must be able to evaluate and provide guidance to students in industry certifications  related to the program 
• Ensures safe use of training facilities 
• Adheres to SUSD policies and procedures as well as the prescribed dress code while at  work 
• Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 
Must be enrolled as a student at Desert View High School and enrolled in Agriculture Holds a current industry certification 
OSHA 19 for Agriculture 
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, excellent verbal and written  communication skills. 
Must be able to work outside 
Current immunization record MMR immunization unless born before January 1, 1957 

Position Title: Student Intern 
Term of Employment: Part time up to 40 hrs. during the month of July 2024 $750 Stipend to be paid July 31st 2024  
Location: Desert View High School
