Position Function:

The Teacher Intern Supervisor is the representative of the university responsible for the teacher inter and serves as a liaison between the university and the public school personnel, promoting a positive relationship between the university and the schools. The task of the teacher intern supervisor is to orient the teacher intern in becoming an effective teacher, counsel the teacher intern in developing his/her own philosophy, encourage reflection on the internship experiences, and evaluate the teacher intern.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are “Unclassified” and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

TEAL Teacher Intern Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Be trained by faculty in the Office of Clinical Field-Based Instruction and Licensure.

Conduct formal observations of the teacher intern at the school site a minimum of four separate times. The recommended observation length is one hour or one complete lesson. These observations will be preceded by a pre-conference and followed by a post-conference.

Grade all assignments as required in TaskStream.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree.
2. Licensure and/or qualified for licensure in the area of supervision.
3. Three years of teaching experience.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

•No or very limited physical effort required.
•No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
•Work is normally performed in a typical interior classroom/work environment.
