Student Intern for The Basement
Casual Position  
Rate of pay: $15.00 per hour
Monday – Friday hours by school:

• Sandburg Middle School: 7:00 am – 9:00 am
• Plymouth Middle School: 7:00 am – 9:00 am or 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
• Robbinsdale Middle School: 7:00 am – 9:00 am or 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
• FAIR Crystal: 2:45 pm – 6:00 pm

The Basement Program Information:

• The Basement is an accredited before and after school child care program sponsored by the Robbinsdale Area Schools Community Education Department. 
• School-year interns can work between 8-10 hours per week, more hours available on non-school days if desired. Site schedules offer flexibility in working around student sports, high school start and end times, and any other commitments. 
• Juniors & Seniors working in this role that attend a Robbinsdale Area Schools High School may be eligible to earn 1 high school credit for every 350 hours worked combining before & after school, non-school days and summer hours. For more information about this process, reach out to your school counselor. 

Job Responsibilities Include: 

• Becoming a part of an amazing staff team
• Assisting staff in all areas of Basement programming. Interns will always be paired with an adult staff when working with students
• Socializing and interacting with middle school students
• Playing in the gym and outdoors with children
• Setting up and/or cleaning up snack 
• Being on time, dependable and responsible 
• Keeping inventory, organizing, and cleaning program space
• Greeting families and students

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be in 11th or 12th grade
• Must have a love for middle school students while being able to maintain a professional boundary
• Individuals with passions, hobbies or interests. Including but not limited to: 
  • Art
  • Anime
  • Dance
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • Theater
  • Sports
  • Skateboarding (PMS only)
  • Video Games
