Job Summary:
The internship in School Psychology provides school psychology graduate students with the opportunity to further their knowledge and demonstrate under conditions of appropriate supervision, the ability to apply their knowledge. The internship enables the intern to derive the fullest possible educational experience from the school setting and provides entry-level experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Confer with teachers, students and parents regarding adaptations to the classroom environment or curricula.
- Conduct appropriate psychological evaluations to determine learning, emotional, behavioral needs of children. Interpret assessment data and make recommendations for intervention. Recommend eligibility for Special Education Support and services.
- Maintain case records, test results, statistical data and summarize evaluation results in written reports prepared and available prior to IEP meetings.
- Attend pre-referral and post-placement meetings to discuss possible intervention strategies and/or to follow-up on prior team recommendations for intervention.
- Attend staff, professional and inter-agency meetings.
- Actively seek greater knowledge in the field through further education, professional journals and professional organizations.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor/administrator.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Possess or eligible for a Colorado Department of Education Special Services Providers License with Colorado Intern Authorization endorsement.
- Master’s Degree (or pursuing Masters’ Degree) in a major pertinent to the position.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.

Travel Requirements:
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
