We are currently seeking to add a summer Civil Engineering Intern to our dynamic team in our Portland, Oregon office.
$23 to $25 hourly with 401k benefits for interns ages 21 and over.
PBS is an innovative civil engineering and environmental based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions for infrastructure and site development. We take pride in our diverse portfolio of projects that range from private development to transportation and water resources engineering. As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced team of engineers, project managers and PBS staff within other service disciplines on various projects. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to the day-to-day activities of a civil engineering firm. You will be involved in tasks such as project design, drafting, data analysis, technical writing, and field inspections. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical knowledge, enhance your technical skills, and contribute to real-world projects.
This is a summer internship with negotiable dates and duration, and a possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Current status as an active student in an engineering-related field, or a completed Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Curious, eager to learn, and takes initiative
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to legally work in the US
- Valid driver’s license
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with civil engineering design tasks associated with municipal public works projects and private development projects such as the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, reports, and specifications
- Self-manage project tasks
- Actively communicate with project managers and team members
- Collaborate with senior engineers on project design and analysis.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas and solutions
- Prepare plans using AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Microsoft InRoads
