Title: Psychologist Intern, School
School Psychologist Intern will work with preschool through high school aged students. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a NASP or APA-accredited school psychology training program leading to the completion of at least an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree or a master’s (M.Ed.) plus a 30-hour degree. Applicants must be in an internship under the supervision of a university school psychology program advisor. Demonstrated successful course completion in cognitive, behavioral, and academic assessments, consultations, and other related skills.
Essential Functions:
• Administers psychological assessments under the direct supervision of a certified school psychologist to evaluate students’ intellectual, behavioral, academic, and emotional functioning, supporting special education eligibility determinations and educational programming.
• Consult with parents and educational staff in Student Support Team meetings, 504 meetings, Eligibility meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, informal meetings, and telephone consultations, all under the direct supervision of a certified school psychologist.
• Prepares comprehensive psychological reports, in collaboration with a certified school psychologist, for dissemination to educational staff and parents.
• Provides counseling and therapeutic support to students in both crisis and non-crisis situations under the direct supervision of a certified school psychologist.
• Completes all university requirements for the school psychology internship, ensuring successful completion of the program under the guidance of a certified school psychologist.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
