As the IT Desktop Support Technician, you are a vital part of the firm and will provide technical support services to all internal users for the day-to-day Firm Technology operations. This position will analyze and resolve routine to moderately complex information system issues for end users anywhere in the environment, network applications, productions applications and hardware.
What you will be doing:
- Answer incoming requests via ticketing system, phone, email, and in-person in a timely manner
- Respond to service requests and provide end-user support including the troubleshooting and administration of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and telephony
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved
- Partner with IT Team to resolve 2nd and 3rd level technical issues with networks, servers and enterprise applications.
- Provide excellent customer service through effective communication, understanding and logical troubleshooting
- Handling confidential information in an appropriate manner. Customer interactions must be handled with diplomacy and tact
- Create training material for users
- Identify, research and resolve technical problems with the assistance of senior staff
- Deploy, administration and inventory of all desktops, laptops and computer systems
- Maintain inventory of all hardware assets
- Experience composing required documentation for end-users
- Install computer peripherals for users
- Ability to work effectively and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Provide training and support to end-user clients
- Develop, document and train others on IT systems and best practice procedures
- Research and analyze technological advances and trends as they apply to and/or improve on daily business and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned, may not be IT related
Preferred Qualifications:
- You have a High School Diploma or equivalent with continuing education in the IT field including but not limited to pursing a degree in an IT related field
- IT Helpdesk support experience is helpful
- Knowledge and experience with selected computing platforms or network environments, including, but not limited to, Windows, and Windows Server, Office Suite
- You are motivated to learn and are looking to get promoted throughout your career.
- You like the challenge of troubleshooting and resolving technical problems all the while responding timely to supervisor or company inquires
- You have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to effectively interact with all levels of Firm management and staff, clients and other external business contacts.
- You are a multi-tasking master with strong organizational skills
- You are extremely detail oriented
- You are a team player and love collaborating with others over sitting in a cube working alone.
- You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and maintain strict confidentiality
- You are a self-starter and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
