Position Title: Information Technology Help Desk – Internship
Department: Academic Reports To: Director of HR
Primary Location: Washington, DC FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Parameters: Part-time; 1-3 months Pay Range: $17.00 ph
The Academic Department is seeking a part-time opening for IT students to assist us with Information Technology support and projects. Successful applicants should be competent in using BAU’s learning technology, such as BAUHUB, Office 365, MyBAU, etc. Applicants should also have basic computer hardware and software knowledge, a coachable attitude, and a growth mindset.
Students in all programs are welcome and encouraged to apply. Starting pay is $17 per hour, the hours vary, and applicants must be willing to work 10 hours per week, scheduled between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. Job Duties:
- Troubleshooting issues with user accounts for the learning management systems.
- Assisting patrons with our BAUHUB, Office 365, and MyBAU services for academic purposes.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Performing assigned supporting roles in various IT projects for the academic department.
- Assisting with meeting minutes reports and taking down notes for meetings.
- Proposing ideas while doing research on technological trends.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Be reliable.
- Be flexible regarding work schedules.
- Be able to apply critical thinking skills for all tasks.
- Be open-minded and respectful.
- Experience with Content Management Systems for web development is a plus.
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
