Experiencing the energy and collaboration at West Monroe firsthand is truly inspiring, but without being here, it’s hard to fully grasp our dynamic environment.  West Monroe is seeking consulting interns to join our Financial Management Team within our Operations Excellence Practice.  In this role, interns leverage their business and technology acumen to guide the transformation of our clients across their COO, CFO and CIO organizations. These projects typically involve developing current-state assessment, strategy, and business case, or managing the implementation of the transformation.

As a Financial Management Intern, you will use your skills to transform our clients’ accounting, budgeting, planning, and financial reporting processes. This transformation is achieved through process improvements, enhancements in core technologies, and operating model refinements.    

Interns aligned to our Operations Excellence Practice will build depth and expertise in their selected area of focus across industries, while sometimes being exposed to our other functional disciplines, pending business need.  Interns hone their skills in critical thinking, data analysis, and presentation.  Perhaps more importantly, through our supportive culture, interns also learn how personally meaningful it is to work for a firm whose mission is to create the next generation of leaders.

Your Role as a Financial Management Intern

• Collaborate with a project team to assist client CFOs in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities in financial close, reporting, forecasting, and analytics by: 

  • Assessing current state business processes and the technology enablement of key processes within the Office of the CFO  

  • Analyzing and identifying areas for alignment between business strategy and finance strategy 

  • Developing transformational roadmaps to modernize and optimize clients’ financial processes, technologies, and workforce  

• Contribute to the selection of new technologies (e.g., ERP) and support implementations by:

  • Assessing the current state of business and IT application landscapes

  • Developing and aligning IT strategy with key business objectives and creating future state roadmaps

  • Assisting in the software selection process, from documenting client requirements to evaluating software vendors and recommending optimal solutions

  • Participating in implementations, including project management activities and core implementation tasks (design, build, configure, test, deploy)

Essential Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree, expected to graduate between Dec 2025 – Jul 2026

• Intern candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.) 

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0  

• Interns must live within 100 miles of their office throughout their internship. Our culture emphasizes team collaboration and a hybrid work model. 

• Ability to travel Monday – Thursday (weekly) up to 50%. West Monroe covers travel expenses.

Preferred Qualifications

• Majors with a focus in: 

  • Accounting

  • Finance

  • Information Technology Management (with a minor in Business)

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the pay rate for this role is $39.00.
