TITLE: SEL Coach
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services
TERMS OF POSITION: Devotes an average of three hours per week to SEL-related district and school-specific work.
DEFINITION: The Social-Emotional Learning Coach (SEL) works cooperatively with the entire staff and the D86 Director of Student Services. Provides leadership in the area of transformative social-emotional learning* and supports departmental personnel and other staff as needed. Works cooperatively with departmental teachers, other SEL coaches, and administrators to recommend procedural changes and transformative SEL initiatives to the building principal or designee.
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Assist with the development, implementation, and integration of transformative SEL curriculum and instruction with staff as well as collaborate and plan the delivery of transformative SEL instructional tools and current instructional research in compliance with Board Goals and district and building policies and procedures for the purpose of advancing student performance and classroom instructional integration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Active Illinois Licensure through ISBE
Teaching and instructional SEL experience (preferred) in appropriate related field
Demonstrated desire and commitment to actively collaborate and plan SEL efforts in the district and its schools
