The ASU Knowledge Enterprise is seeking a detail-oriented and communicative individual to join its Research Operations organization at Arizona State University (ASU). As a Management Intern, you will contribute to a culture of compliance by providing professional level administrative support to an assigned Department, assisting with general administration projects, research and analysis, procedural studies, and technical planning. You will collaborate with assigned senior staff members in order to gain working knowledge and experience related to department administration. The ideal candidate should be proactive, a willingness to research and learn policies and procedures, and an interest in advancing the university knowledge base.

Candidates are required to provide proof of either U.S. citizenship, Permanent U.S. residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b(a)(3).

  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Works under supervision.
  • Receives detailed instructions and works from general instructions on standard job duties, with regular review of completed tasks. 
  • Flexible work options may be available.
    • Alternative work schedules can include staggered start and stop times.
    • Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice-president-level approval is required.
    • Remote work is an arrangement where the employee spends less than 60% of their regular workweek at a regularly assigned ASU work location. Executive vice president-level approval is required.

Essential Duties
Serves in an intern capacity for a specified division or program, which may include the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks related to specific function/program assigned, such as tracking event attendance, development of brochures or other unique projects.
  • Provides regulatory support for processing of compliance actions.
  • Conducts independent research of administrative or operational areas specific to the area of assignment.
  • Assembles and analyzes data and makes interpretations under direction of senior staff for application to area of assignment.   
  • Assists in development of new programs, policies, or procedures; coordinates programs as assigned.
  • Assists in specialized administrative or technical projects in area of assignment.
  • Analyzes procedures and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintains records, databases and prepares reports as needed.
  • Areas of duties and responsibilities may include the following: General Administration Academic and Student Services Business Office Development Event Staging Marketing and Promotions Media Relations Operations Special Projects Data Analysis Report Development
  • Works with supervisors to prioritize and manage time. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
